1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS
From Motocar Revival Company
This Chevelle was another project that caught us by surprise. We started out by thinking we were going to repair a couple of things and then do a repaint. Once our staff got into the project however, we found that there was not a single good panel on the car. Once again, we found ourselves calling in the customer to decide how to move forward. Will we move forward with what we have or scrap? Our customer decided to move forward.
After some research, we ultimately found that it was going to be a bigger bang for our customer’s buck to replace all of the panels versus fix what we had sitting in front of us. We replaced both of the front fenders, both of the doors, the hood, the deck lid, the full quarter panels, the tail panel, the roof, and the floor pans from front to rear. Our staff the repaired the windshield opening from a previous crash, repaired and replaced the inner front fenders and the rear wheel wells. We then finished off the metal fabrication by leading in the stock seams. With all of the sheet metal new and the leading of the seams, the body work went fast and, literally, seamlessly. The Chevelle was painted to the customers specs, trim was reinstalled and the vehicle was assembled. They say that the cars we drive say a lot about the driver. We think that this car, in this color, makes you forget that it even needs a driver!
